This article is outdated: it has now been concluded that Covid-19 will claim more victims among this group than vaccination, which justifies the vaccinations. This raises new questions. I set it A word about those 33 deaths in Norway
[as of 17 January: 29 Norwegian deaths]
It says that hard: "dead by vaccination". I deliberately did not choose "death" after vaccination" because with Covid-19 Happens Not that either. Approximately every elderly person who dies within a month of a covid infection dies "of" corona and is registered as a corona death. So then these are just vaccine deaths. And no excuses of "they were actually almost dead" or "very near end of life". This also applies to the vast majority of corona deaths.
As of January 16, only 13 of the dead had been examined: all by the vaccine. [edit 20 January: this has now been revoked] As happened with the trials, we simply extrapolate that result to the whole group. 23 was the score in the news of January 15; on January 17 it was 29. The vaccination of people over 80 has now been suspended in Norway.
I do wonder: does this only happen in Norway? Are things so much better in other countries?
That the vulnerable would have a very hard time with the side effects is in line with the expectation (at least mine, see a blog of 20 November '20). Vaccination will undoubtedly cost the lives of the vulnerable. Admittedly, there will be fewer than after a few Covid outbreaks in the nursing homes in question.
It is no different: if you systematically refuse to provide nursing homes with clean breath that would protect the residents, then you have to do something. Vaccinate, yej! Go oldie, demented or otherwise (mentally) handicapped: that inject in, participate in that trial you! Family protests? Don't do it because then we will have to amend the emergency law.
If they had wanted to test those vaccines on vulnerable elderly people, they should not have made the ventilation systems of nursing homes virus-free – oh wait...
The effect of a high VFR (Vaccination Fatality Rate) among the elderly
I estimate the VFR among vulnerable people, based on the total number of Norwegian vaccinations and the priority for vulnerable people, between 0.05% and 0.1%. That is about as deadly as Covid-19 in someone under 65. That is hard to comprehend. Is Covid so incredibly harmless or is that vaccination so murderous?
Anyway, if they are going to calculate this Vaccination Fatality Rate, they will first inject more selectively. If there are still too many accidents, each 'vulnerable' person will be assessed individually whether he/she may die of covid or whether that risk should be reduced – with the added risk that the vaccination itself will become the cause of death. [edit: on Jan 17, vaccination to people over 80 or over 75 was suspended, it has now been concluded that Covid-19 will claim more victims among this group than vaccination.]
Upside-down world
I am afraid of one thing: if it still goes wrong, will they choose to vaccinate everyone except the vulnerable for whom it was intended? That feels like the upside-down world to me, but I can't pinpoint exactly how. Comparisons are all flawed somewhere:
- Shall we also take everyone with a driver's license off the road to give a number of troublemakers free rein?
- Shall we make blindfolds mandatory so that we can decorate the whole world on blind people?
- Ban walking to make the world wheelchair-friendly?
I'm still looking for a good comparison. On Twitter, the option was suggested to shoot civilians, at least then they will no longer be vulnerable; They could then die of corona.
Again: if the vaccine turns out to be super safe in a few years, I will be the first to change my position. I will always think it is an irresponsible gamble that millions were vaccinated in 2021 to see how that works out in terms of unanswered questions, with a process that has never before been used on a large scale for a terrible disease that can be tackled very well medicinally and with indoor environmental rules.
