The additional risk of serious adverse events exceeded the risk reduction for COVID-19 hospitalization in both the Pfizer and Moderna trials. This can be concluded from a pre-print in which the Pfizer trials have been analyzed again, but now independently, so not by the Pharma Dependance America.
On SSRN is a summary (Abstract) of that re-analysis of the Pfizer trials. A kind of peer review of a Pfizer report. We will have to wait for the peer reviews on this study. [EDIT 1 Aug 2022: Meanwhile peer reviewed] The piece was written by scientists from five different universities, including Peter Doshi. As Senior Editor at the British Medical Journal, he knows how that works, so some premature goodwill is in order.
Below is the translation of the summary with the most important piece made in bold:
Abstract
Results: Pfizer and Moderna mRNA COVID-19 vaccines were associated with an increased risk of serious adverse events of particular interest, with an absolute risk increase of 10.1 and 15.1 per 10,000 vaccinated people from baseline placebo values of 17.6 and 42.2, respectively (95% CI -0.4 to 20.6 and -3.6 to 33.8).
Combined, the mRNA vaccines were associated with an absolute risk increase of serious adverse events of particular interest of 12.5 per 10,000 (95% CI 2.1 to 22.9).
The additional risk of serious adverse events of particular interest exceeded the risk reduction for COVID-19 hospitalization relative to the placebo group in both the Pfizer and Moderna trials (2.3 and 6.4 per 10,000 participants, respectively).
The complete PDF
The buttons to download or view the entire study do not work on that SSRN page, which is a bit strange but will undoubtedly be repaired. So I have to search for the PDF. First Google. The top result is the page where the Abstract can be found. The two subsequent hits are similar but refer to a completely different study, more on that in a moment.
If you then just get three correct hits on DuckduckGo, that's a sign that something is going on.
Via duckduckgo I found the complete PDF, download here. In it even more info such as:
These results are consistent with a recent preprint analysis of COVID-19 vaccination trials by Benn et al., which found no evidence of a reduction in overall mortality in the mRNA vaccine trials based on data from the subsequent BLA (Biologics License application) that underpinned the subsequent approval (31 deaths in the vaccine arms versus 30 events in the placebo arms; RR 1.03, 95% CI 0.63 to 1.71).
So what was that other study that popped up in Google and that I almost mistakenly started reading? This is a study funded by the Chinese government that shows that the adverse events in Hong Kong are not that bad.
Note to subscribers: This email message follows very quickly that of this morning But I didn't want to keep it from you. Also because it is yet another worrying signal that should not be ignored and fits in perfectly with the earlier article.
