Stop the permanent corona law. Sign the petition.

It's going to be tense. The permanent Corona Act regulates that a Minister of Health, Welfare and Sport can overrule existing laws, human rights and civil rights in the future without much ado. This law has no substantiation, solves nothing and will contribute nothing to better public health or a nicer society. With regard to the substantiation, see a previous article, heading "Argumentation-theoretic analysis". The CTB (the QR pass) has been removed from the bill to take the wind out of the sails of opposition. This makes the proposal less hopeless and therefore extra dangerous.

The law removes emergency brakes from the democratic system, allowing a minister to implement what he has set his mind to for whatever reason almost unimpeded. It is sufficient if he can authorize or organize a body that advises him. That function is now fulfilled by the OMT. What the minister will have to argue in order to be able to implement an arbitrary 'protection plan', based on isolation, separatism, threats, job denials, deviating views and so on:

  • an epidemic threat ✔ => there is always one, every autumn. Prophets of doom are there for the taking on the doorstep of the Op1 studio.
  • A-status disease ✔ => the Minister can attribute it himself, as is now the case with a disease that is comparable to the flu and in various studies even more innocent.

That's it. And that without any substantiation, just waving a report with assumptions of like-minded people and a signature under a status change to "A".

I thought that our cumbersome democratic system was precisely intended to prevent this kind of excesses of power. I thought we had independent knowledge institutes, an SER, an SCP, a KNMI, you name them. All on the government drip, though. Still, I hope for some scientific integrity from the people there. In this respect, the RIVM has already fallen through the basket, they no longer need to be mentioned in that scientifically tinted list.

Did you think so too? Then there is no other option than to sign the petition, even if you are not a fan of Forum.
At the time of writing, more than 107,000 signatories.

People, get moving, don't let it all happen to you... It's not just about your holiday or the hospitality industry. It's also about our children. Help to protect them! In Denmark, it is no longer possible for people under 18 to get a vaccine, so there is really something going on that needs to be figured out.

Nevertheless, our minister wants to vaccinate people over 12. With such a corona law, no less can be put in his way than now. Look at Minister Lauterbach in Germany, imagine that he had such a law... We can only hope that he does not get the idea that other countries should also follow his regime, after all, his neighbors also threaten him with their lax face mask behavior. Ordnung muss sein!

N.B.: The Greens in Germany have proposed the creation of hotlines where politically incorrect citizens can be reported. Lauterbach probably thinks it's a good idea. Is that really where we want to go?
