Angela often writes sharply and always daringly. She knows how to clearly formulate very normal, often healthy popular ideas and opinions: a rare combination. She usually discusses completely silly TV programs with the same certainty as how she judges complex problems. Although I sometimes disagreed with her, I liked to read her columns, for example, I learned from them what you can think of social problems and how people can like Farmer Seeks Woman.
Until she wrote about an Op1 where Maurice de Hond was at the table. Then she showed what fear can do and how the government campaign had misled people with their 'front soldiers', a series in which the dysfunction of the early ICU treatments was seized upon to prove how dramatic personal suffering can be. After all, doctors had also started trading on the basis of incorrect assumptions.
And then her performance at Op1:
I was very disappointed that Angela did not consult independent sources. After all, MSM is no longer one of them. Even the Skepsis Foundation, just like 'critical journalism', turns out to be full of decent people. Angela reminded me of 'Mothers Against Nuclear Power'. So fiercely, so deeply affected in their whole being – they really can't be blamed for what they say.
Overprotective people are talked into pre-traumatic stress syndrome. Never heard of it before, but the term seems to me to indicate adequately on the basis of which many opinions are now formed. Vague unscientific knowledge gaps about the future are effectively filled with solid emotional anxiety. All that is needed is false information from usually reliable sources.
The RIVM (with the WHO's communication manual in hand) skillfully played that catastrophic game with Rutte and de Jonge and the government then firmly pursued that WHO strategy. PTSD is something you should try to cure, pre- or post, it doesn't matter. Now it has become the basis for government policy. They can no longer go back with good decency, that will be a démasqué. Especially for Jaap van Dissel.
I don't read Angela's columns anymore. Cap. It will take a while before I forget her self-disqualification from back then. But on the other hand: a smart business-like politician like Rutte also falls for it.
If even the Red Team's calculators go along with it, it makes little sense to burn people down personally on this. It really is a system error. Doctors are simply not guardians of public health, nor of the environment. They are physicians who only cure patients, societies are really a different kettle of fish.
Especially for Angela: Dissecting a frog is different from maintaining an aquarium.
