Complaints from a group of ex-patients with persistent problems are presented as residual complaints of all Covid patients
In this AD article of October 5, 2020
The AD reports on a study among ex-corona patients with residual symptoms after covid-19. This group was put together 3 months ago in order to be able to monitor those residual complaints.
In 6% of this group, the symptoms have now disappeared, in the others not yet or not completely. It is important to get a picture of residual complaints. For example, it is useful for general practitioners to know that there is a 1 in ten chance of heart problems for residual complaints after 6 months.
But then the headline in the AD:

It is repeated again in the intro text: Heart problems occur in almost 12% of coronaptioners in the hospital. (highlighted in yellow, it's really there).
Let that sink in for a moment because it says something completely different and much more serious. It is categorically incorrect and unnecessarily worrisome, not to say fear-mongering.
Hate speech is out of the question, but fear mongering is apparently no problem for the government, the judiciary and the media.
Factual finding
With, of course, another anecdotal video of a patient who suffers a lot from residual symptoms after a corona infection. I sincerely wish this lady a speedy recovery. It's terrible to see the enormous impact an illness can have on your life.
So what about
- First of all, 1 in ten does not end up in the hospital, that many people do not even get really sick
- If you do get severe symptoms, which may require you to go to the hospital, there is a small chance that you will have residual symptoms (also occurs with the flu)
- If you still have those residual symptoms after 6 months, there is a 10% chance that it is related to heart problems.
- There is no comparative research with residual problems of, for example, the flu, so we don't know yet whether that's a lot.
Based on this sample, nothing can be said at all about the percentage of the total hospital patients. Yet the AD just does that. Where does that impulse of Fear & Threat suddenly come from? Has the advertising space already been purchased? Is there perhaps a major 'information campaign' coming up from the government? After all, that always includes some supporting advertorials or editorials, that's just how fat works.
Sample justification
"Although fortunately many people no longer have any symptoms, there is a group of patients who continue to have complaints. We must not lose sight of them," says Michael Rutgers. "This study involves a large number of corona patients who are still experiencing symptoms."
Director Michael Rutgers of Longfonds.

Pay particular attention to the hidden sample justification above. Below is the link to the original report of the Lung Fund, which is not much less alarming.
What is so difficult about honest, critical reporting... Surely this lying will not help anyone in the long run except the pharmaceutical companies? What does it matter AD.nl those pharmaceutical companies?
