Ivor Cummins argues in a twenty-minute video that lockdowns don't work and certainly not with seasonal diseases. One of his previous 'recaps' has been viewed 1.7 million times. Not that that says anything about the truthfulness, but in any case he pretty much sums up the substantiation of the anti-lockdowners (to which I also count myself for the time being).
In addition to a whole series of comparisons between countries and times of lockdowns, he emphatically mentions:
- As recently as October 2019, the WHO clearly advised against quarantine of healthy people in an epidemic because its effectiveness was unsubstantiated. There were no lockdowns at all.
- Also where PCR mortality is increasing, the Excess mortality often in line with previous years and sometimes even lower.
- Locking people up also leads to extra mortality. There are many PCR positive tests, including in people who die. Then the Covid graphs look dangerous, even with regular mortality figures.
- There is a pile of scientific studies that all argue or demonstrate why lockdowns have no positive effect (see this link).
YouTube has of course removed the video. A later -but somewhat more technical- video can be found on his own site The Fat Emperor
(If I miss Bob Ross a lot, I sometimes put on 😉 a video of Cummins )
What now?
So... (Because people then ask: shouldn't we do anything?) As priorities I would suggest:
- Adjust care capacity immediately. First now temporarily and then also structurally, especially with a view to the Rising mortality rates in the coming years.
- Facilitating Monitored Trial Use of Candidates in Scientific Waiting Rooms: Ivermectin and HCQ/Zinc
- Upgrade the indoor climate with better air quality (revised building code, permits for public spaces). This will spread the infections better and not only allow them to break out in the 'indoor season'. It will also come in handy for other viruses and subsequent pandemics.
- More attention to nutrition and additives (Vit. D, C, Zinc), smoking bans, lifestyle etc.
- High time for a campaign, preferably virals with a high R0 value, key message: "Fight the virus as if it were a gas."
