With such figures, you wonder in despair why mass protests, everywhere, will not break out. Where is the anger at the suffering and mendacity of the (in)competent professional groups and authorities?

The numbers are clear but I am groping, increasingly, in the dark about the ignorance/indifference/naivety of too large parts of the population.

In short: How to get all this between the ears of gullible and honorable citizens who are too docile!

    Thanks for the piece Anton

It's to be distraught. I have now understood how such black pages could arise in our recent history. I wish I had never discovered it. And you can't even blame people, they just don't see it.

Yes, recent events have influenced my view of history. To a certain extent. I've always realized that homo sapiens as a species doesn't have a great track record. And I've known for a long time what bureaucratic, technocratic organizations can do to people. It is naïve to think that things like wars, discrimination and genocide are something from the past, or only take place at a distance.
No reason to sit back and relax. But we preach very much for our own parish. It's obvious to us what's going on, but most people don't see it.

It would help if messages were shared a bit more, also to people outside the parish. The readership here is barely expanding.

People are not open to it, Anton. Maurice de Hond has a much larger audience, but it doesn't get through either. Anyone who criticizes is seen as an anti-vaxxer and conspiracy theorist. Thanks to government propaganda. I always try to enter into the discussion, and get the feeling that more people are going to have doubts about the approach. But maybe that's wishful thinking. If something penetrates, it will probably go abroad. America or England.

Anton I share your messages on Facebook every week. I bring out points from you as extra with bold letters. I feel so powerless, there are only a handful who react to it. And when I share a useless message, about a recipe or whatever, I only see that I have followers again. 🙁

Why such lukewarm reactions from the population because of what the government has done to us with the Corona measures?

      Two explanations:
      1. The cowardly mentality of the average Dutchman. You see that in almost all areas. Example: At the moment there are major labor unrest in France because of the increase in the retirement age to ... 64 years!!! Reading this, you wonder in bewilderment how in our country the retirement age has reached 67 without any significant protest.
      2. The repressive action of police and ME against peaceful corona protesters. That has deprived many of the desire to demonstrate again, let alone protest. We now know that the order to intervene mercilessly via the NCTV came from the Minister of Justice himself. That was Grapperhaus at the time. The same one that is now seriously threatened from the underworld. For once, let me hope that the 'underworld' will go one step further...

I can't even read this article completely. Not yet, anyway. It really doesn't make me feel good at all. 🙁

    Anyway thanks again Anton.

We have to remember that in Pandora's box only hope was left behind. So, along with Reve: " Courageously move forward. But where to."

Arnoud, I also get a knot in my throat.
And thank you Hans. Reve always manages to bring me back into the relativity of The Great Being. In dark times I regularly fall back on his poetry.

      The good news

I sat with a beating heart in front of the color television,
and thought, "His holiness will surely mention
of the increasing decline of morals?'
And sure enough, he had hardly started, or I already heard:
      decadentia, immorale, multi phyl ti corti rocci;
      influenza filmi i cinema bestiale
      contra sacrissima matrimoniacale
      criminale atheistarum rerum novarum,
      (et spiritu tuo), cortomo:
      nix on the handa.
It was a pity that it took so short.
But when it was out, there was fine music from the army.
I already love this life. And soon
eternal life in Heaven. You sometimes wonder:
'What have we earned it from?'
