Virologists may have to tinker with their own brain cells, that much is gradually becoming clear. A clique of virologists from Boston University proudly presents a newly assembled virus:
"We generated chimeric recombinant SARS-CoV-2 that encodes Omicron's S gene in the backbone of an ancestral SARS-CoV-2 isolate and compared this virus to the naturally circulating Omicron variant. [...]
While Omicron causes a mild, non-lethal infection, the Omicron S-borne virus causes a serious illness with an 80% mortality rate."
How can we get those idiots to stop playing with lethality? The reporting is flawed and supervision fails on all sides. Taxpayers' money is misused for GoF games. Soon we will have a new "zoonosis infection" and everyone will wonder again which beast should be blamed again. History repeats itself.
The research is funded by the U.S. National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), of which Dr. Fauci director is. The main character of the book that you don't get help with at Google to find. Again involved in Gain of Function praltijken.
From statnews.com:
Emily Erbelding, director of niaid's department of microbiology and infectious diseases, said the BU team's original grant applications did not specify that the scientists wanted to do exactly this work. Also, in its progress reports to the NIAID, the group did not make it clear that it was conducting experiments in which a pathogen with pandemic potential was amplified.
In short, they bring in money, NIAID knows nothing about anything or keeps to themselves with the stupid, and then go to work in their sandbox, apparently without proper monitoring or interim reports.
In any case, vd Bossche's biggest fear does not come true:
The conclusion of the study is that mutations in the spike protein of the Omicron variant are responsible for the strain's ability to escape the immunity that humans have built up through vaccination, infections, or both. Mutations in the spike protein are not responsible for the apparent decrease in the severity of the Omicron viruses.
If they try to divert attention from the spike protein, and thus from the vaccines as a pathogen, I give them little chance. There are already too many recognized side effects to be able to call the spike "benign". And pathological examination accumulates.
The "severity of the Omikron viruses" has decreased with the disappearance of the cytokine storm. The blood thickening problems have remained and those are precisely the side effects attributed to the spike. Did they let those mice live long enough to look at that side effect?
Boston University has already reacted with shock to the resulting commotion: They knew nothing about it and moreover, it was not a GoF study at all because the result was a virus that was weaker than the Wuhan virus. And moreover, this research for the Greater Good is constantly being done by the FDA (!). See the clipping from the Boston Herald.
Media are bouncing over each other again, some with inconsistent stories. For example, according to the Boston Herald, no humanized mice were used. That may have seemed to the editors an indication that the research was not dangerous for people. The following paragraph states exactly which humanized mice were used. Something with a hat and a brim.
In Boston, too, science journalism is practiced with too little intelligence to rig a proper lie.
Either way, it's work to be done for Google's filter programmers.
Would you like to know more about the BU study:
- Lab in Boston Made What Could Be A Super-Killer SARS-COV-2 (substack.com)
- Link to the study in question (preprint)
- If you also want to mess around with viruses, there is a webshop where you can test mice can order. If you are concerned about the environment, have them delivered climate-neutral. If you order eight, you have a chance to win an EMA certificate.
Radboud Nijmegen already concluded in September 2020 that a cytokine storm is not characteristic after a corona infection.

Tjeetje, I'm going to take a look. So what's the difference with flu...? Just 'more serious'? Other studies do see it, although it is with 'part of' and 'severe Covid'.

Perhaps at Radboud they did not realize how few people ended up seeing life-threatening due to (only) Covid.
Interesting again. Have you seen this one? It is of course more complicated: timing of when you take measurements is very close. https://www.news-medical.net/news/20220609/A-comparison-of-SARS-CoV-2-and-influenza-cytokine-storms.aspx
